Mountain Tui reckons Luxon’s close to being rolled.

Will it be Bishop/Stanford, or Stanford/Bishop?

I don’t think much will change with the overall Coalition; Peters and Seymour will still be wagging the dog. Things could get worse even … (NB I can’t read the article).

It may not change for the coalition but it may impact the opposition's polling. From her performance on Q and A Stanford oozes competency and is a good communicator.

More on the attempted greenwashing by one of NZ's largest polluters (Newsroom again : )

Dairy giant’s convenient omission from coal announcement

Fonterra spends millions of dollars to convert boiler and reduce emissions – then imports cheap wood pellets

New Zealand’s biggest company will use overseas fuel – initially, at least – in South Canterbury boilers that were converted from coal with a taxpayer subsidy.

And initially Fonterra was wanting the Max Greenwash . Not dirty coal..Wood Pellets!

Fonterra didn’t say where its wood pellets were coming from.

    However ..

When asked, Mulvihill now confirms they are being imported from Vietnam.

Ok. And as it turns out there is actually a NZ supplier of Wood Pellets (Natures flame, albeit Talleys owned, hmmm)

Taupō-based Nature’s Flame, owned by agribusiness giant Talley’s, is the country’s largest supplier of wood pellets, capable of producing 180,000 tonnes of wood pellets a year. A third of its pellets are exported.

Chairman Steve Koekemoer expresses surprise that Fonterra is getting its wood pellets for Clandeboye from overseas – something he assumes is a commercial decision.

Cindy Baxter on the subject (again an awesome advocate for our NZ Environment)

Her last point is to me the crux of it. IMO Fonterra did a cheapish green wash exercise…when they could have made a real statement/Enviro result, by going full conversion and burn woody waste incl slash !)

Cindy Baxter, of Coal Action Network Aotearoa, gives Fonterra credit for the shift away from coal at Clandeboye. “The sooner we stop burning coal the better,” she says, as it will clean up air pollution and be better for the climate.

It’s a shame the company is getting wood pellets from Vietnam, she says. “If they had gone for a full biomass boiler conversion instead of converting existing coal boilers they’d be able to take in all kinds of woody waste.”

The comments section is, as usual, well worth reading. So many Informed Expert people. Why arent they in charge?

Poor Mr. Luxon having to pay these rates (paywalled).

The Herald on Sunday understands the rates for Prime Minister Christopher Luxon’s multimillion-dollar Waiheke Island property have almost doubled to more than $25,000 after a rates increase of nearly 80%. His [$7.7M] Remuera home got off comparatively lightly, with rates rising to nearly $18,000 after a 20% increase.

We need a WEALTH TAX. If Hipkins won't do this he must go.

      Oh dear, poor Mr Luxon….

Coupled with post 2 above might explain the paranoia factor 13 around Whakatipu this weekend, must have most of Otago and Southland's police in town, very visibly, and just a little agitated, to look after Luxy and Albo. Someone's not happy

  5. The BBC refers to a disturbed male fetishist as a "woman".

Not a woman – not our crimes.

This is what "Self ID" looks like.
