”Labour/ Greens/ Maori Party would win a slim majority of 62 seats in a 120 seat Parliament
The survey results for August would lead to 62 seats (up seven seats from the election) being won by the Labour/ Greens/ Maori Party Parliamentary Opposition compared to 58 seats (down 10 seats) for the current National/ ACT/ NZ First governing coalition.
For the three Opposition parties Labour’s support would secure 42 seats (up eight seats from the election), Greens support would mean 17 seats (up two seats) and the Maori Party would win three seats (down three seats).
For the governing coalition National’s support would win 36 seats (down 13 seats from the election), support for ACT would equal 13 seats (up two seats) and NZ First would win nine seats (up one seat).”
Is the tide slowly starting to flow?
All the more powerful for being purely propaganda, this Xi Jinping-hosted Shanghai Cooperation Organisation include not only the minor states like Kyrgestan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, but also in total about 30% of the world's population including Pakistan, India, Russia, and North Korea.
It would not be hard to see this as the security core around which BRICS would trade. Particularly if Russia and China together put the hard word on Turkey to pull out of NATO and join this more authoritarian grouping.
Tomorrow we will see the SCO group memorialising the 80th anniversary of the defeat of Japan in WW2. I'm sure our people will be having a cup of tea at their RSA's about it, but otherwise our own sacrifices will be barely mentioned compared to the European commemorations in May.
Truly a darkening world.
